Inversion has changed my life and I believe it will change yours.

At the time, I was designing waterskis and competing at a national level, though my back pain was so severe that I was forced to wear a steel reinforced lace-up brace every time I skied. Through other competitive skiers, I was introduced to Gravity Boots to relieve lower back pain and for the first time I was pain free. The relief was not just the result of silencing symptoms; inversion therapy was actually targeting the source of the ache. As an engineer, I knew I found my calling--to design and manufacture inversion equipment, like our Teeter Inversion Tables, so that more people could take control of their health and find natural, sustainable relief.

Teeter History

Since 1981, Teeter is the only company in the world to continuously produce inversion equipment, building a reputation for incomparable quality standards, testing and marketing efforts.

Commitment to Quality

High-quality materials matched with proprietary design create products that are engineered for long-term structural integrity and ease of use. We strive to continually incorporate unique and patented features and insist on product testing to medical standards to offer proof that Teeter inversion products are superior to any other inversion product on the market.

Each product has been listed or classified by Underwriter Laboratories, an independent testing facility. Our consumer tables are voluntarily put through the rigorous specifications for UL 60601-1, which categorizes medical equipment for use in a clinical setting. This is the most difficult standard to meet for this type of product. Commercial and clinical products are UL Listed as well. Teeter offers the only inversion tables on the market to have passed these specifications.

Top Ratings in Comparison Studies

In engineering reviews comparing competing brands of inversion tables that help in low back pain treatment, Teeter Hang Ups was rated Number 1 across all categories of evaluation, outperforming in static load and functional endurance trials, ease of assembly (with the average unassembled parts), and performance for ease of rotation and lockout in full inversion. In fact, in a test that simulated actual use, all four competing brands experienced catastrophic failure resulting from torn or broken metal within 2.4 years of use or less, far short of the UL 1647 standard of 30,000 cycles. Teeter reached 40,000 cycles when the test was stopped for time.

Manufacturing Experience

Since 1981, Teeter is the only company in the world to continuously produce inversion equipment. Unlike other sporting goods manufacturers that make hundreds of different products, Teeter has designed and manufactured inversion equipment exclusively, building a reputation for incomparable quality standards, testing and marketing efforts.

Guarantee and Warranty

Out of all the inversion equipment manufacturers, Teeter offers one of the most extensive product warranties. Teeter's full manufacturer warranty covers every component for the length of your models warranty. Teeter also offers an industry-leading 5-year warranty on select models. Teeter's dedication to building superior quality products and parts, and our commitment to providing our customers with great customer service is one of the many reasons Teeter holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Comparing the Competition

One inversion table may look the same as the next, but buyer beware--looks may be deceiving. What may not be immediately obvious are vital design features for user protection and reliable function. The disparity in product quality among inversion tables was emphasized by a 2010 study performed by Dynamark Engineering, an independent product testing firm that specializes in mechanical analysis and forensic engineering.

Modeled after the UL 1647 safety standard, which includes unique requirements for inversion tables, Dynamark's performance tests were conducted on a selection of widely distributed models. The results were nothing short of shocking. Please read below to find out why Teeter is the best way to relieve lower back pain. Accept no substitutes.

No Skimping

Be wary of lighter weight inversion tables – less weight often equates to less steel. Components made from thinner tubing, cheaper materials and with less of a support structure may look fine but may be shortcuts that compromise quality and user security.

Bulky inversion tables can also be deceiving – features like padded bed frames or tube diameter can weigh more, but that increase in bulk doesn’t equate to a stronger table or better engineering.

Teeter Inversion Tables stand apart from others in the marketplace because we understand the essential engineering needed to make a truly exceptional inversion table. We put extra steel in the key components where it matters!

Stability

Teeter inversion tables feature a base to height stability ratio 20% greater than other competing models, on average. The smaller the ratio, the greater the risk of product instability. Teeter’s tapered A-frame design and corner feet not only look good but provide a reassuring foundation whether you’re doing sit-ups, stretching or oscillation.

Endurance Test

UL 1647 Requirement: 30,000 simulated user cycles performed under maximum rated body weight. The ankle closure, foot platform and rotation from upright to full inversion are tested to ensure no failure.

Dynamark Results: Each table was loaded with the manufacturer's rated user weight and cycled to simulate actual use. All four competing brands experienced catastrophic failure resulting from torn or broken metal with 3500 cycles or less (less than 2.4 years of use by a family of two), far short of the UL 1647 requirement. Teeter remained structurally sound for over 40,000 cycles (27 years of use) without failure, before the test was stopped for time.

You may be thinking, "Why would I need my inversion table to last 27 years?" The answer is, "Failure is not an option when you need to relieve lower back pain!" If your treadmill breaks, it's annoying. If your inversion table breaks, it could hurt you. Equating "cycles" to "years of use" assumes 2 cycles per user per day. Many people rotate their inversion table far more than twice in a session, especially if they enjoy oscillation or intermittent traction. Increasing the average daily use to 10 cycles means that every competitor's inversion table tested would fail after less than 1 year.

Strength Test

UL 1647 Requirement: Product must hold a minimum of 4 times the manufacturer's rated body weight ("4-times safety factor").

Dynamark Results: In the fully inverted position, weight was applied to determine the maximum static load each inversion table could withstand before failure. Unbelievably, one competitor actually failed under a load of only 180 lbs and the strongest competitor failed at only 400 lbs! All fell far short of the 4-times safety factor. By comparison, Teeter held a load of 1440 lbs. - that is 4.8 times the rated maximum user weight of 300 lbs. and more than 3 1/2 times the strength of the strongest competitor.

The low failure load of the competing tables is especially concerning because the inversion table bounces during full inversion with exercise, causing a potential increased load of 2-3 times the user weight.
